Even though it’s been a few weeks since Hurricane Sandy wiped out the East Coast, the damage in states like New Jersey and New York still remains and victims of the storm need our help! There are so many different ways to provide support such as directly donating to organizations like American Red Cross and volunteering through Occupy Sandy.
On another note, musicians have taken it upon themselves to get more involved. As of yesterday, Circa Survive, Anthony Green, Psychic Babble and Brendan Ekstrom have collaborated on a Hurricane Sandy Benefit EP. The 5-song digital album is a mere $4 and all of the proceeds go towards the American Red Cross.
This weekend, Real Estate, Vampire Weekend, Devendra Banhart, Cass McCombs, as well as members of The Walkmen and Dirty Projectors have all partnered up for an acoustic performance on Saturday, Nov. 17. The concert takes place from noon to 5pm at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity in Brooklyn, New York. Attendees are asked to donate a minimum of $30.
